María Moreno, dance

María Moreno's (Cádiz, 1986) dance is the result of pure evolution: a free, contemporary language rooted in flamenco tradition. In 2017 she won the Newcomer Award at the Festival de Jerez with Alas del recuerdo, and in 2018 the Giraldillo Revelación at the Bienal de Sevilla with De la Concepción. In 2020 she premiered More(No)More, for which she won the Giraldillo for Magic Moment at the Bienal, and published the book Yo bailo together with photographer Susana Girón. Her show o../o../.o/o./o. (soleá) (2022) was presented in Amsterdam, Barcelona, and France, and since that year she has also developed the flamenco happening Verso libre in unconventional spaces. In June 2025 she premiered Magnificat at the Bienal de Madrid. She has performed at venues such as Sadler's Wells in London and the New York City Center.

Benito Bernal, guitar

Benito Bernal (Villanueva de los Castillejos, 1998) is one of the rising young talents of contemporary flamenco guitar. He grew up surrounded by music and learned his first notes from his mother. At sixteen, he enrolled at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Huelva, going on to complete his training at the Conservatorio Superior de Córdoba, where he won the Niño Miguel award. In 2022 he made his solo debut at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla with De la mano de Dani de Morón. He has accompanied artists such as Arcángel, Miguel Poveda, María Moreno, and Eduardo Guerrero, and has performed on stages and at festivals throughout Spain. His playing, which he himself describes as "a bit anarchic," combines refined technique, passion, and a constant search for new sounds.

La Perla de Cádiz

Founded in 1979 as a tribute to the great singer from Cádiz, Antonia Gilabert Vargas, the Peña Flamenca La Perla de Cádiz is today a leading institution in the city. Under the presidency of Paco Real, it carries out intensive work promoting and preserving traditional flamenco, with particular attention to the styles of Cádiz: alegrías, tangos, bulerías, soleares, and saetas. Its programming includes series such as the Viernes Flamencos (Flamenco Fridays) and landmark competitions such as the Concurso Internacional de Baile por Alegrías (International Alegrías Dance Competition) and the Concurso de Tanguillos de Cádiz, as well as educational programs, lectures, exhibitions, and events organized in collaboration with the City Council and the Cátedra de Flamencología. The peña also safeguards La Perla's living memory through lectures and studies coordinated by experts such as Félix Rodríguez, establishing itself as an active center firmly committed to flamenco tradition.
